Farrell Redeems Himself On PWWSS Trail.

It was more than just a case of returning to form for ‘Flyan’ Ryan Farrell. He knew he needed to be sure he returned a good result at the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway round of the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars last Saturday Night.

“We redeemed ourselves that’s for sure” he said this week. “I needed to have a good run to gain the points we lost at Toowoomba and I’m pleased with how we went.”

He started the night out with a fifth in the time trials, setting up a couple of tough heats, but the determined racer maneuvered his way forward in both heats gaining valuable positions on the points tally with a third and fourth place finish. This would see him finish third on points and made things look promising for the dash.

Farrell went in to the dash confident but the desired result of a top two finish didn’t eventuate, and he had his only bad run of the evening, dropping backwards to see the Monte Motorsport #95 start from sixth for the A-Main.

Starting the A-Main behind the likes of Danny Reidy, Jason Johnson and Australian Champion Garry Brazier, he knew it wasn’t going to be easy and there wasn’t time to mess around. He moved up to fourth quickly and started hassling Brazier for third. Utilizing the bottom he was able to eventually making the move to third as the race wore on, but was unsuccessful at holding on to the position, and eventually dropped back to fourth where he finished the final

“The track was good for the final, Parramatta really turned out a good one for the A-Main” he remarked “It had a big ledge at the top and provided a true two lane track for nearly the entire final. It was a respectable crowd there for the PWWSS round and I reckon the crowd loved what they saw as the top four finishers were all on the front straight as the checkered flag fell.”

“It was a good result for us as others had bad nights, just like we did last weekend at Toowoomba. Max, Robbie and Brooke all finished behind me and it has improved our point’s position immensely. I’m going in to the break feeling pretty good about being able to bounce back in to the top five.”

Farrell heads home for some much needed R&R as he doesn’t race again until the boxing night meeting for the Speedweek Series for the PWWSS. He will race ten times between that meeting and the sixteenth of January across four states, the busiest part of his summer schedule, so it is understandable that he needs to recharge the batteries during his two and a half weeks away from the seat over the holiday period.

Merry Christmas from Ryan and all the team of the #95, stay safe and be sure to catch up with the Monte Motorsports team when they return to the track after Xmas.
