Queensland car owner John “Jay Dub” Weatherall has entered not one but two Sprintcars in this coming Easter weekend’s Supercheap Auto Tri City Shootout. West Aussie livewire Ryan Farrell flies in to steer the #95 Lightning McQueen Maxim and joining him will be surprising Queensland youngster Ben Hilder to steer the #75 Maxim.

“I’m excited to enter Ryan Farrell in our #95 car and I think in we’re in with a real shot this weekend,” smiles Weatherall, “and I think a lot of people will be impressed with how young Ben Hilder goes. He’s a very surprising young man.” The Tri City Shootout has attracted a stellar field of Queensland and interstate stars and Weatherall is approaching the Easter weekend as a major chance to score some pay dirt.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that Ryan can win races in our car,” he admits, “particularly with the Scott Inglis house motor that we have to work with. I think we’ll be a very competitive team and Ryan’s going to be a force to be reckoned with.” Weatherall too is a big supporter of teenager Ben Hilder. “The kid is smooth. He listens to what he’s told and he drives well. I think he’ll get some valuable laps in this weekend and improve a lot.

He’ll surprise a few people along the way too I’m sure.” Night One of the Shootout will be held at Maryborough Speedway this Good Friday, Night Two at Titan Garages Archerfield Speedway on Saturday and then the finale at Charlton Raceway Toowoomba Easter Sunday night.

“I think this whole deal’s a good thing for Queensland Sprintcars,” smiles Weatherall, “and I’m really excited about having both Ryan and Ben in my cars for different reasons. I can’t wait.”
