Farrell Chases Turn Around In Form.
One thing is for sure ‘Flyan’ Ryan Farrell and the Bunbury Auto Group #95 Sprintcar Team won’t want another night like last Saturday at Bunbury Speedway.
He was able to score a heat win in his opening heat, but from there it all went down hill. A spin in to the fence in the second heat saw front end damage that was replaced for the dash, only for a bone crunching flip caused by contact to David Priolo when Ryan lent on him too hard trying to execute a pass. It would be hard to remember the last time the team finished with no A-Main result and a severely damaged race car in the trailer.
That in itself shows how professional as a crew and how skilled Farrell has become at his craft to be the leading Sprintcar team racing in WA, and you can expect that they will turn that form around come this weekend.
And you can be assured Farrell will come out ‘with all guns a-blazing’ with his back up #95 Silver Bullet this weekend chasing a win in the prestigious Nanovich Memorial/King of Wings classic. Although not happy to bend his primary car, Farrell has assured his fans that this ex-Kinser Maxim is still good enough to do the job needed to fight for a win at the next two major events.
He has proved to be W.A.’s best this season taking his sixth state championship, winning multiple feature races that include wins on the east coast, run at the pointy end of the field with the best World Series Sprintcars has to offer, plus grabbing a podium at the recent Australian Championship. But Farrell and his hard working crew wont rest on their laurels just yet.
And with $20,000 waiting for the winner they don’t expect it to be a cake-walk.
This weekends two night extravaganza is certain to be a cracker of a meeting, not only taking on Australia’s best but Six Americans as well, including team mate for the weekend Kaley Gharst.
This will be the second time that Gharst will race in Western Australia having competed here for the lucrative high dollar events, including the Krikke Boys Shootout last season. He will compete in the Cowra Transport/Passmore Automotive #41 Maxim owned by Steve Duggan, who is the team manager of Farrell’s #95.
Farrell thrives on the pressure to perform at these major events and would love it to be a one-two finish to reward Duggan and his dedicated crew, as long as Gharst is the second car home.
