Farrell Sets His Sights on Good Last Hit Out Before Title

This weekend at Bunbury City Speedway Ryan Farrell & Bunbury Autogroup W95 Silver Bullett will contest in the HOT Fm showdown which also doubles as a round of the AHG series.

This will be Ryan’s last hit out in WA prior to the 47th running of the Australian Sprintcar Title at the Perth Motorplex in early February.

Next week Ryan will be off driving for the V88 Victory Lane Racegear at the Presidents Cup at Avalon Raceway on Wednesday Night, Kings Challenge at Borderline Speedway on Friday Night & finally the Grand Annual Classic at Warnambool Raceway in Victoria on the Saturday & Sunday of the Australia day long weekend.

With the way the SEG/AHG points system works here in the west he will need to secure as many points as he can this weekend to still keep him in the top 3 whilst missing the January 24th show at the Perth Motorplex due to him being on the east coast next week.

As series leader Ryan will loose approximately 150 points by missing the January 24th show at the Perth Motorplex whilst he is on east coast racing duties. It is unfortunate with how the current SEG point’s system works that Ryan will be penalized these points, in years past it has been the SEG policy to allow average points for any WA team competing in either an Australian Title on the east coast or one other blue ribbon event and Farrell Motorsport feels this will be an unfair advantage on Ryan should those average points not be allowed in 2009. A few years back Ryan also dominated that season by winning 8 feature races but again due to the SEG policy  whilst racing on the east coast he didn’t secure his first AHG title, Does the SEG have the system wrong?

The team are feeling confident going into this Saturdays show at Bunbury after winning the last 3 rounds of the AHG series and included in that was the WA title also run at Bunbury Speedway.

Farrell’s dominating form this season can be attributed to many things this team has set in place in readiness for a full on attack on the Australian Title, from the preparation of the cars at the Cowara base near Margaret River by Steve, Brand & the team, securing the services of Geoff Murphy to lend a hand during the big shows, switching to Genesis shocks, the continuation of the Maxim Chassis package and the continued support from major sponsors such as Bunbury Autogroup, Gibbs Corp & Cowara Transport just to name a few.

Farrell is determined to have a better second half to the speedway season than the first hale race fans have already witnessed, he has his sighs set on SEG Series, Australian Sprintcar Title and of coarse his favorite event the 2009 Krikke Boys Shootout.

Farrell will again team with young USA Hotshot Kaley Ghast who this week confirmed his appearance for the two big races in late February King of the wings & the early March Krikke Boys Race.

So this Saturday Night Bunbury City Speedway the home of the W95 team, HOT FM sprintcar Showdown.
