Farrell Slays Them.
In his first appearance as a full-time driver with the Monte Motorsports camp, Farrell didn’t take long to get used the new Kim ‘Buzzy’ Buzwell prepared J&J #95. He grabbed a fourth in his opening heat, during which he set the fastest time of the evening (in race trim) of 11.84 seconds, only 0.12 of a second behind the fastest time trial set by local champion Warrene Ekins earlier in the evening. From that point on the only thing the rest of the field saw was the #95’s tail tank. He won the remaining two heats (where he posted the fastest one lap times again) and then set out to really teach the rest a lesson. Farrell had the race face on for the final, and with a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude proceeded to lead the rest of the field on a merry dance. Total domination is the only way to express what he did in the twenty lap feature, with some pundits saying it ranks as one of the finest drives seen at the Darwin complex. Farrell returns to the Northern Territory for the next meeting for Sprintcars on the 6th of June where he will once again be out there to gain more experience working with the mightily impressive Monte Motorsports Team. If this early form is any indication it looks as though season 2009 could be a long one for anyone who decides to tackle ‘Flyan’ Ryan Farrell and the Monte Motorsports #95 J&J when they race in the Northern Territory this winter.
