The Seasons Over But Things Still Busy For Farrell

The Western Australian summer season may have finished nearly a month ago, but it hasn’t been a quiet time for W.A.’s number one Sprintcar driver Ryan Farrell.

He has just finished his busiest season ever, and when you look at the statistics it is quite incredible. Ryan competed at forty one meetings over the summer, all up competing in 102 races (heats, dashes and finals). Of those finals he qualified and completed twenty four of these, finishing on the podium 15 times for 6 wins. His sixth West Australian Championship was the highlight, while coming so close to that elusive Australian Championship was a bitter pill to swallow.

And when you considered that many of those meetings he was racing against the best Australia and the USA had to offer it was one hell of a season.

So if he hasn’t been racing just what has he been up to?

Sponsor drive days at both the Motorplex and Bunbury tracks have filled the schedule over recent weeks, where Ryan & the team have shared their knowledge with sponsors, fans & competitions winners.

As apart of those sponsor drive days, he also completed the fund raiser drives which had raised funds of almost $10,000 for charity, they were a great success & will certainly be offered again next season.

“They went well. It’s great to have the people involved with the team have the hands on experience of driving my #95 ‘Silver Bullet’ out on the track. The looks on peoples faces, especially those who haven’t done something like this before is priceless” he said this week.

It was an apt reward for those that have supported Farrell and the #95 team all season long, and Farrell himself would like to thank all of them for their sponsorship and efforts during last season’s campaign.

“First of all I would like to thank my dad, John Farrell and Steve Duggan. These two do so much behind the scenes, whether it is raising the finances to support what I do, to all the organization and preparation all year that allows me to race week in, week out all year long. I can’t thank them enough for their efforts.” He said.

“Another big thank you goes to Karenna, Steve’s wife, who helps at each meeting as a supporter, a cook, a psychologist, a friend and a mother to not just me but to all of us on the team.”

“Russell Hall! What can I say about him? He has not only been a major backer of our efforts over a number of years but he has become such a good friend. Russell is so enthusiastic about what we have done and he has been the back bone of this team with the sponsorship support he has given us….Mate thank you so much.”

“To all our other sponsors Van Der meer Consulting, Wylie & Skene, Asset Insure, Malavoca, Gibbs Corp, Ledge Finance, Cape Crushing, Maxwill Race Engines, Revolution Racegear, KTM, Arai Helmets, Cowara Transport, Rocktec, Civmec, Sands Freightlines, Genesis Shocks, Hoosier Tires, BCM Motorsports Marketing, BCM Promotions a big thank you goes to all of you as well. Without all of you we couldn’t have achieved what we did and I really appreciate having every one of you being part of our team.”

“To Geoff Murphy thank you for coming aboard this year and giving me a car that would be one of the best I have ever driven. It was sensational the way we finished the season together and the results we had were brilliant.” Geoff along with Craig Vosbergen from Racin Tyres & Genesis Shocks really gave us a great race car all season".

“And finally, but not least of all every one of my dedicated crew who were there week in, week out. To have you there wherever we raced was nothing short of sensational. Ken, Rob, Steve, Geoff, Melv and all of the Cowara Transport boys as well as my little brother Aaron, you all did such a good job working on the car and supporting me over the summer – Thank You!”

Ryan has just recently begun his campaigning for his new team Monte Motorsport, just having completed round one of the Chariots of Thunder series at the Northline Speedway in Darwin which Ryan won convincingly.

This is the start of  a season which will involve over 40+ shows Australia wide including the full World Series Sprintcar rounds with Monte Motorsport. “I can’t thank Luch and all the team at Monte Motorsport for their help during the year when they provided me a car when we needed it, and also for this opportunity that they are about to give me for next season” he said just before heading to Darwin.
