Team 95For The Boys Stands Proud At The Krikke Boys With two of the worlds best up & coming Sprintcar Drivers west Australian "Flyan" Ryan Farrell & USA Young Gun Kaley Ghast both contesting the 11th annual 2008 Krikke Boys Shootout last weekend the WA95 for the boys tag was well represented. Kaley Ghast from the USA driving the state title winning Maxim that Ryan Farrell won the title in two weeks previous at the same venue had a very quiet but successful weekend. He was able to sneak below the radar all weekend only to find him self finishing second behind eventual winner Robbie Farr from NSW. The quietly spoken Ghast seem to relish in the weekends events, from the Krikke Boys model show on the Friday night to securing a 5th place in time trials to set up his weekend. While Kaley went about his business the second Russell Halls Bunbury Mitsubishi team car of WA95 Ryan Farrell debuted the Ex Steve Kinser team green car for the weekend and this was well received by all the "Flyan Ryan" fans. Ryan also qualified well in his time trial and heats on opening night which set him up for the dash & preliminary A main very well, but he was brought undone by lapped cars during the night one A main, this made the ever aggressive 95 even more determined for night 2. After a full days maintenance & repairs to the two 95 Maxims and it was time for night two of the Krikke Boys Shootout both cars had good starting positions in their heats and only had to finish in the top 4 to secure a dash start. Ryan scored a win in his heat race & Kaley finished second and again were on track towards the ever inportant main event. Dash Time & both driver would have a front row start in opposite dash races and both finished in second position, with the all important 2008 Krikke Boys Shootout final approaching the team would secure positions in the first two rows of the main event with kaley on the front row & Ryan on row two. This race would go down in history for all the wrong reasons, the 35 laps would be completed in a record 1 hour & 15 minutes, with continuous red lights for mid pack cars crashing out, while the top 3 were never headed for the entire race distance, the only battle up the front was weather Kaley or Ryan would finish second behind night one winner and a very fast Robbie Farr. On lap 16 Ryan would get by Kaley for second and pull Farr in but the WA95 Maxim developed a rear end failure and he was forced off with only two heartbreaking laps to complete, Kaley then took second place and the team left feeling again like un finished business was at hand. Team 95 would like to thank their entire sponsor fleet and a big special thanks to Russell hall from Bunbury Mitsubishi for c continued support at the boys race each year. for more on "Flyan" Ryan Farrell visit www.flyanryanfarrell.com BCM Motorsports Marketing www.bcmbear.com |
