Seven Days And Counting.

The Monte Motorsport Team is looking forward to returning to Darwin next weekend for the start of the Chariots of Thunder Series and drivers Luch Monte and Ryan Farrell are brimming with confidence after their recent outings, and go in to the upcoming series as two of the favorites for the crown.

Farrell has had the been getting the most experience during the Australian winter, competing at all of the rounds of Northern Territory season at Northline Speedway, and has been the one to watch this winter in the top end but is under no illusions that from here on in things will become more difficult. The fields for the upcoming series will double as numbers increase from around fifteen Sprintcars for the club shows, to over thirty for the Chariots of Thunder Series, including some of the best from New South Wales and Queensland joining the fray.

Since joining MM he in awe of what they are doing for him to achieve success on the track. “I can’t say enough about my time so far with Monte Motorsport” said Farrell this week. “In the past I have had some good equipment but what Luch and the team have giving me is brilliant. They are supplying me with all the latest equipment, the best I have ever had under me and the most powerful motors I have driven and that is showing in the fact that I have won six feature races out of the eight I have competed in for Monte Motorsport.”

“It’s going to be tougher over the upcoming three rounds (six nights) of racing with the teams that are coming and instead of three or four guys who can win its now going to be six or seven who I will have to keep my eyes on.”

Team owner Monte is once again excited to be behind the wheel of his #17 J&J as work commitments will restrict the numbers of shows he races this season and he loves to race, so any extra opportunity is one he grabs with both hands. Monte has shown he has what it takes to win in any company, and the experience he has had at the number one Northern Territory track will make it tough for anyone who comes up against him over the course of the series.

As a team they realize that it’s time to step it up a notch and to give both Farrell and Monte the best so another two cars will be used this weekend. The team, led by crew chief Kim Buswell will start arriving on Tuesday to take care of final preparations of the new cars and is looking forward to the challenge of the next three weekends.

“”Myself and Dillon arrive back from the USA on Tuesday and Dillon will go straight to Darwin as I have a few things in Perth to take care of before I go up on Thursday. The next six nights (of racing) will be a lot tougher with the likes of Loudon, Maher, Mann, Wanless and McFadden joining local hotshot Ekins but I know with the laps we have been turning up there that either of our Monte Motorsport cars are more than capable of winning this thing” he said from the states this week.

Can they win it, you bet! The time for learning and experimenting is over and next weekend it will be time to ‘get serious’ about the upcoming summer campaign. Monte Motorsport is about to set out on its most extensive campaign with the number of events they will compete in across Australia and want to take out as many wins as possible, and it all starts on Friday the 14th at Northline Speedway.
